All 48 components that make up ECOBULB®PLUS CFL’s, (including capacitors, transistors, lead-in wires, and solder points) were tested by SGS and found to contain lower levels of harmful materials, including: Cadmium, Lead, Mercury, Hexavalent Chromium, PBBs, and PBDEs. The amount of mercury in a CFL is extremely small. So small, that all of the mercury contained in a single CFL can fit into the tip of a pen. The actual average is estimated to be about 3-4 mg. Even so, because CFL’s contain trace amounts of these materials, FEIT ELECTRIC recommends proper disposal and recycling in order to prevent contaminating our environment.
